Ohana Sushi - Suffolk: Fresh, Flavorful Sushi and Warm Hospitality in Virginia

As new residents, we're trying to find our new favorites and Ohana Sushi has rocketed to the top of the list. It's an unassuming place from outside but the inside decor was pleasantly lit, decorated well, and spacious. Our server was attentive and friendly and made sure we weren't lacking anything. We were greeted with a free bowl of edamame and ordered a Sapphoro beer and hot plum sake. With our drinks, we were given complimentary egg rolls that were a delightful light taste with a nice crunch. Our entrees were a Hawaii roll and a tempura shrimp roll with yellow fon sashimi. The ingredients were fresh, perfectly prepared, and tasty. Quantities were generous. And we received a "Japanese ice cream sandwich" for dessert that was vanilla ice cream, a chocolate shell, nestled in a thin delicate waffle. The meal was AMAZING!! We had such an enjoyable meal out and felt appreciated as customers. The final bill was under $50 for us both with drinks. This is a gem and I wish them much continued success as they work hard to earn it.

My son(10) and I came in for lunch on a Saturday. I can't say enough good things about this place! Very clean, welcoming, and pretty. Our server was a delight! Very personable and helpful, she was great! The food was phenomenal!! We got the fire shrimp tempura appetizer (light, crispy, fresh and so good) my son got an Ironman roll and I got the Christmas Tree roll. Both rolls were delicious, so fresh and well done. The chef is wonderful, the cuts were beautiful, presented like art. This was a great experience and we will be back often!!

excellent Japanese vibe I love the Suban walls Felt like Christmas inside with a decoration, but it’s still really cute. I love all the wood on the floor. first greeted with free edamame and after ordering the meals for sushi we got Ramen and sushi. The Ramen was really good. The sushi was superb.. Definitely come here for the sushi. The variety is amazing. I wish it was lunchtime during the weekday to take advantage of the deal. But was still such a great amazing experience got two free rolls with our meal and got free dessert really coming back here again great atmosphere great food great service

On my way back to the hotel tonight, I stumbled upon a hidden gem—Ohana Sushi. Tucked away in a small strip center, it’s the kind of place you might miss if you’re not looking closely, but trust me, it’s worth finding. The moment I stepped inside, I was warmly greeted by the staff and seated right away. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and since it wasn’t too busy, the service felt especially attentive and personal. I started with a cold Sapporo beer and ordered the Special Combo, which includes two specialty rolls. I went with the Spiderman Roll and the Jalapeño Hamachi Roll—both sounded too good to pass up. While I waited, my server brought out a small side of edamame, a nice touch that added to the thoughtful service. When my sushi arrived, I was genuinely impressed. The presentation was beautiful and appetizing—I couldn't wait to dig in. Every bite delivered on flavor, and the staff checked in often to make sure everything was just right. To top it all off, they brought me a small bite of chocolate cheesecake at the end—a sweet and satisfying finish to a great meal. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed. Ohana Sushi has the charm of a neighborhood favorite with the quality of a standout spot. I’ll definitely be back.

Best sushi place I’ve ever been to. Food was fresh and fast - they made alterations for me. Place is sparkling clean, wonderful decor, and would definitely return. You won’t be disappointed !

I came alone for lunch. The service was fast. I got complementary adamamme right away. Drink came fast as well. Food was fresh and delicious. The little complementary cheesecake at the end was a nice touch as well. I have been to many sushi restaurants, including some in Japan. I recommend this one.

Very attentive service. Sushi is very good. Layed back environment with booth seating. I will definitely return when back in Suffolk Harborview.

We tried this place for the first time on a Monday afternoon, right after lunch. The food was really good! We got the dumplings, beef yakisoba, special Yama rolls, and chicken karaage with rice. We paid $65 not including tip. It took about an hour from the time we sat down to when the food finally came out, but the staff were super nice and apologized since they got pretty busy. Maybe they didn’t expect that many people on a Monday. They even gave us cheesecake to make up for it and it was delicious. I gave it 4 stars because the food is a little pricey and the portions aren’t that big, but 5 stars for the flavor and the friendly service.
